HENRY Purdy’s dream season shows no sign of letting up after he helped England reach the Under 20 World Championship final.
The 19-year-old Leicester Tigers player, from Milton-under-Wychwood, came on at outside centre as England defeated New Zealand 33-21 in Vannes, France.
England will now play Wales in Sunday’s final.
Former Chipping Norton junior and Cokethorpe School pupil Purdy joined Leicester last summer after London Wasps did not offer him a contract.
Since then, he has made his first team debut in the LV= Cup and earned an England Under 20 Six Nations call-up.
England won that tournament and now Purdy and his teammates can do the double.
He tweeted: “Facing the Haka, great effort from all the boys tonight. One hell of a shift. #jwc #Allblacks . On to the next one #final”.
