OXFORD RL head coach Tony Benson was left frustrated by their high-scoring defeat at London Skolars.

Benson’s men have now lost three close enounters this season to go alongside three victories.

He said “It was another game we should have won.

“We showed a little bit of inexperience at key times, and when the Skolars built up momentum in that opening 15 to 20 minutes of the second half, we could not stop it.

“The boys gave 100 per cent effort once again and never gave up and there were a lot of positives to take out of the game.

“We faced a very experienced team who had a number of dual-registered and ex-London Broncos players playing and we fronted up well at times.”

Benson, however, feels his team are making decent progress.

“We are improving each week,” he said.

“There are things we will be working hard on in training this week as we conceded too many points and our contact was poor.

“But we will be looking to address this ahead of Gateshead next week and bounce straight back.”
