CHINNOR are looking for an April boost after enduring a torrid March, according to head coach Jason Bowers.

Bowers’s men lost all three National 2 South games they played last month, which matched their worst run of a generally encouraging season.

After defeats to Hartpury College (52-7), Dings Crusaders (21-17) and Henley Hawks (41-9), Chinnor are now eyeing some better form.

“The Henley match was a good game to get out of the way and we can now look forward to the last five games of the season,” said Bowers.

“We have had a tough March. We knew that would be the case at the start of the month.

“We go into April knowing that we are playing a lot of the sides around us.

“It was disappointing that we didn’t get many points on the board, but we already know we are playing in this league next season, which is great.”

  • A NASTY dead leg put paid to Chinnor fly half Will Millett’s hopes of making the England Under 20 Counties squad.

Millett missed Chinnor’s match against Henley to attend trials last weekend, but was injured in the first session.

He was the only Oxfordshire player to make it to that stage, although Chinnor clubmates Leo Fielding, George Blewitt and Jack Horwood also reached the South West trials.
