Albi Skendi hammered a hat-trick as Banbury eased to a comfortable 3-3 win against St Neots Town at Spencer Stadium in the Evo-Stik Soutehrn League Premier Division on Saturday.

It saw the Purtitans end St Neots’ five-match unbeaten run. Banbury came out of the blocks quickly, with Kynan Isaac’s 25-yard shot tipped around a post by visiting keeper Jack Giddens on three minutes, before the hosts went ahead 60 seconds later.

A cross from the right by Michael Hopkins found Akendi, who headed home at the far post past Giddens.

Banbury doubled their tally when Skendi fastened on to a through ball before taking the ball around Giddens and slotting into the empty net.

At the start of the second half, Banbury keeper Warren Carter was forced to make a number of saves.

At the other end, Isaac was denied by Giddens low to his right on 63 minutes.

Banbury kept up the pressure and duly made it 3-0. A right wing corner from Hopkins found Skendi who headed in at the near post to complete his treble. Although Ed Adjei cut the deficit with a long-distance strike, Banbury eased in with little difficulty.
