Oxfordshire's first team were whitewashed 15-0 by Kent in their Inter County Championship match at Gillingham.
Kent fielded a powerful side for the Division 1C contest, including three former national champions.
However, there was much better news of Oxon 2nd, who were a match point away from beating Kent 3rd in Division 3C at the same venue, but fell 8-7.
David Andrew and Andy Purrott held match point at 20-19 in the deciding game of their men's doubles but lost 22-20, giving Kent their winning eighth rubber.
Oxon then took all three mixed but Kent had already passed the winning post.
Earlier, Andrew had been involved in a long singles which he lost 21-19 in the decider.
At Abingdon, Oxon under 17s went down 14-6 to Sussex.
The only home player to make a real dent was Oxford's Jonathan Campbell, who was unbeaten with a singles win, two doubles with James Mignanelli, and a mixed with Lauren Cooper.
It was a case of five out of six as Becky Lees and Dominique Newman led North Abingdon to two 6-3 wins in Women's Division 1 of the Oxford and District League. North beat both Oxford Brookes and Leys, but the Brookes No 1 pair of Sara Mason and Chiaki Murayama overcame Lees and Newman to gain all their team's rubbers.
In Mixed Division 2, there were no unbeaten pairs as Abingdon B beat Evenlode A 5-4, while Matt Asprey and Sara Mason won three times for Oxford Brookes as they fell to Gosford Hill B OXFORD LEAGUE RESULTS.

The opening men's doubles turned out to be the deciding factor when North Abingdon and Didcot Power Station met in Division 1 of the Wallingford Three Disciplines League. Power's Mignanelli and Richard Lewington took two 15-9 games from Santo Orlando and Simon Wareing as Power emerged with a 156-155 victory Even the least of the four mixed doubles reflected the closeness of the match when the pairs halved, Lewington and Jo Mellor winning 15-14, Orlando and Jane Bowen-Morris responding 15-13.
Harwell A were trailing Abingdon 123-120 going into the last match of the evening. Harwell's Dave Bolus and Susan Holdroyd won the opener 15-7.
But John Martin and Kay Hardie replied 15-4 for a 145-139 win to Abingdon.
