ABINGDON Amblers Noel Blatchford and Judy Howard won 3km walk titles for their age groups in the Southern Counties Veterans Indoor Championships at Lee Valley.
Blatchford took the ladies’ vet 65 crown in 18mins 34secs, while Howard clocked 19.46 for the vet 55 honours, despite carrying an injury.
Radley’s Jacqueline Breslin picked up a gold and two bronzes.
Vet 40 Breslin won the triple jump in 7.80m after coming third in the 60m (9.7secs) and 200m (31.9secs).
- LEWIS Purbrick equalled Abingdon Amblers’ 60m indoor record at the Midland Counties Open.
Purbick recorded 7.87secs while finishing sixth in his heat at the National Indoor Arena, Birmingham.
Abingdon’s Georgia Harvey finished second in the under 17 girls’ 300m on her indoor debut at the same meeting.
Harvey clocked 43.29, which was less than 0.3 seconds slower than her outdoor best.
