HENRY Box School in Witney took a clean sweep of under 15 mixed doubles medals in the Oxfordshire schools’ competition at White Horse Leisure & Tennis Centre, Abingdon.
Lizzie Hempstead and Thomas Hayes won gold after beating fellow pupils, Elliott Heritage and Marisa Kidd, all year 9 students at the school, 22-20 in the final. Hempstead and Kidd also won girls’ doubles bronze.
Zara Latter, of Burford School, took gold in the girls’ singles, beating Abigail Patrick (Wood Green).
Eloise Ruthven-Stuart, of Burford School, won a gold in girls’ doubles.
Bartholemew School, Eynsham were also in the medals. Tara Humphris won the under 13 girls’ singles gold.
In the same age group, Ciaran Walsh took boys’ silver.
The girls doubles silver medal went to Tara Humphris and Holly Tuckey.
Lewis Ashmore won the under 17 boys’ singles gold medal.
