OXFORDSHIRE never recovered from a slow start as they lost 12-3 to Buckinghamshire at Bartholomew School in Division 2 Central of the County Championships.
Bucks led 8-0 after the singles and first round of the doubles before Matt Jackson and Peter Frobisher earned Oxon’s first point.
The hosts’ other wins came from Jonathan Campbell and Alistair Reed, plus Frobisher and Alison Ross.
Oxfordshire 3rd were pipped 8-7 by Leicestershire 4th at Babington Community College in Division 6.
Mike Brockie and Amy Lawson earned wins as the singles ended 2-2.
David Richardson and David Buckingham took both their doubles, while Brockie and Sam Stroudley won one.
Lawson and Becky Foster bagged a victory to make it 6-6, but only Buckingham and Fauzia Arif could win their mixed doubles matches.
- DRAYTON’S Louise Atkins won twice on her debut as Oxfordshire Under 17s hammered hosts Worcestershire 18-2 in the Shires League.
Atkins defeated Beth Hendy 21-18, 21-18 in her singles match, then teamed up with Joe Roberts (Brize Norton) to see off Joe Ennis and Kirsty Gledhil 21-15, 21-18.
Oxon achieved a clean sweep in the boys’ singles, boys’ doubles and girls’ doubles events.
