A FINAL decision over whether Sunday’s Oxford Mail Cross Country League second round meeting at Culham should go ahead will be made on Saturday.
Officials announced this week that the event was likely to take place, despite the recent flooding. A league statement on www.oxonxc.org read: “Barring extra heavy rainfall (which is not forecast for the area) the event is ON.
“The courses for races 7 and 8 will be altered slightly from those shown on the event page, by reducing the length of each lap, and increasing the number of climbs.
“The new courses for races 1-6 will not be affected. Temperatures are forecast to be at or close to freezing in the run-up to the event.
“Please be aware of this, and bring appropriate clothing for all in your party.
“If further heavy rainfall does occur or is forecast, please check the website nearer to the time. A final decision will be posted on Saturday morning.”
