Lewis Stratford was the toast of Oxford after winning the All-England Under 25 Singles crown at Reading, writes PETE EWINS.
Stratford came second in his round robin group to qualify for the semi-finals, where he defeated Oxfordshire rival Craig Mace 14,590-3,680 to reach the final.
Stratford then beat Sussex’s Lorenzo Hickman 9,800-5,980 to lift the crown.
Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League Premier Division leaders Kennington kept up their winning ways with a 4-1 home victory over Comrades.
Vikings A are, however, still right on their tails after a 4-1 win of their own at Masons B.
Section 2 leaders Gladiators A march on after winning 4-1 at Dolphin.
