An unbeaten display from Maria Ioannou could not prevent Oxfordshire suffering their first defeat of the season in Division 2 Central of the County Championship when they lost 10-5 at home to Staffordshire.
Ioannou provided Oxon with their only singles success, before teaming up with Simone Fulle to secure two ladies doubles wins.
In the men’s doubles, Oxon’s only win came from Philip Sayer and Jonathan Campbell to leave them trailing 8-4, needing two wins from the mixed doubles to secure a point.
However, they managed just one – from Campbell and Ioannou – who made it a superb four wins out of four.
