After a spell on loan at Leyton Orient he joined Rushden and really made his name as their first choice keeper here. He helped them win their conference promotion and has shown at United he is a fine shot stopper and he signed a new deal in the summer of 2006.

Eddie was a promising schoolboy for United who joined United at the age of just nine. Aged 15 he joined Southampton and was part of the same squad as Dexter Blackstock and Theo Walcott. He had loan spells at Yeovil and Tamworth before U's manager Jim Smith bought him back to his hometown of Oxford.

Northern Ireland U21 international, who impressed Oxford greatly when on loan from Championship side Cardiff last season. Signed in the summer of 2007 after being given a free by the Bluebirds. Reads the game very well and his pace is a big asset to the defence.

Barry is versatile and can play in either midfield or defence. After breaking into the Sky Blues' side during their time in the Premiership Barry picked up four full Republic of Ireland caps and became a fixture in the Coventry side during their last season in the top flight. Quinn enjoyed a fantastic season in defence in 2006/7, when he was voted Players' Player of the Year.

Willmott has had Premiership experience with Wimbledon and he played 50 games for the club when it was based in London. He then had a 100 game spell at Northampton where he helped them reach the play-off semi-final. He has proved himself to be a very worthy signing for Oxford since joining in 2005.

Has had two spells at Oxford, in his first spell his defence helped Oxford win promotion in 1995/6. He moved to Leicester and made 23 Premier League starts for them before going to West Brom in 2001 for £500,000. He also had a spell at Rotheram. His experience in much higher leagues than the conference will hopefuelly prove very valuable for Jim Smith and Oxford if he remains free of injury.

Started off at Portsmouth before moving to Exeter. He then found himself at Southend where he achieved promotion with the club in the 2004/5 season. He has more than 100 senior appearances. He joined United in 2006 and is renowned for being a hard working right sided player who has also turned in some good appearances in the centre of the park as well.

Hutchinson is a hardworking midfielder whose heart-on-his-sleeve attitude has won over fans wherever he has played. He played at Brentford for six years, where he gained all his experience. He adds passion and competitiveness to the side. His debut season (06/07) was hampered by a foot injury sustained against Woking, playing against his twin brother Tom.

Joined United in 2006 and was top goalscorer in the 06/07 season, bagging 21 goals in all competitions. He is a tall striker which makes him dangerous in the air and he has a decent first touch, which he uses to bring others into play around him. A crucial part of the squad whose partnership with Yemi Odubade could be important in the 07/08 season.

Signed for Eastbourne in February 2005 from Yeovil where he scored 2 goals in 8 appearances. By November 2005 he had joined Oxford after an impressive performance against Oxford. He signed up to an 18 month contract which had been renewed. He was born in Nigeria and has bags of pace which will trouble many defenders.

Luke is a young player with a bright future. The key to his strengths lie in his versatility - he is able to play at centre half, full back or in midfield. He was sadly missed in the play-offs in the 06/07 season when a leg fracture suffered at York in the last game of the season ruled him out of the semi-finals where the U's lost to Exeter on penalties.

Phil was part of the famed Crewe academy that has also produced stars such as Dean Ashton and Seth Johnson. He dropped out of the league but showed what he could do at Moor Green where his performances in the centre of the park attracted a host of clubs. He achieved his dream of becoming a professional footballer when he signed for Jim Smith's United in the summer of 2007.

Joel's pace as either a winger or striker should cause major concerns for defenders. Jim Smith signed the youngster after he impressed playing for Gravesend in 06/07.

Alex is a French left back who joined United in the summer of 2007 from Hereford. After establishing himself at home town Troyes he moved to this country to join Darlington in 2000. He played just one game for Bristol Rovers but was part of the Exeter team than won promotion back into the Football League.

Gary knows The Bald Eagle from his days as a youngster with Derby County, where he made his first team debut at the age of just 17. He was snapped up by his former manager after being top scorer for Airdrie in 2006/7. Twigg is able to play up front or on the left wing and was known in Scotland for having a keen eye for goal.

He was signed in 2007 by Jim Smith who is hoping that Michael's flashes of brilliance can be transformed into a consistant role as the U's playmaker.

Arthur was a cult figure at Burnley because of his size and infectuous enthusiasm. He dropped down the pecking order with the arrival of former Man U player David May and moved to QPR. But he suffered a career-threatening knee injury which meant a year out of the game and a spell with a small French team to gain fitness. Was a free agent when signed by Jim Smith.

Marvin is powerful and fast which makes him very difficult to deal with as a defender. Know well by Jim Smith as it was him who gave him his league debut at Derby. Signed in August 06 but his first season was hampered by injuries.
