THE usually formal surroundings of Blenheim Palace will echo to the beats of 70s disco music this summer.

Nile Rodgers and Chic, famous for such dancefloor classics as Le Freak, Good Times and Everybody Dance, are the second act to be unveiled for this year’s Nocturne concert series at the Woodstock stately home. They will be joined by two special guests yet to be revealed.

Nile and Chic, who will play the Great Court on June 14, join Gary Barlow on the bill for the four-day festival. The Take That star’s closing night concert on June 17, announced last year, sold out in record time.

The Chic live show features all of the band’s hits as well as songs from Rodgers’ collaborations with the likes of Madonna, David Bowie, Daft Punk and Diana Ross.

Nile said: “We are really excited to be bringing some Chic magic to the Nocturne concert series at Blenheim Palace this summer.”

Tickets for Chic featuring Nile Rodgers start at £45 and go on sale at 9am on Friday.
