FIREFIGHTERS were honoured at an awards event staged by Faringdon Town Council.
The town’s fire station won the Community Achievement Award at the ceremony this month.
Station manager Nick Bourke said: “It’s the first time that the station has been recognised with such an award and demonstrates what a very professional group of people we have at Faringdon.”
More than 2,000 people voted in the awards.
Others honoured at the event included charity workers Gordon and Anne Dowell, the Free Church Cemetery Trust and Faringdon Lifestyle and Mobility Shop.
