THREE friends are set to take an unlikely vehicle on the trip of a lifetime.
They are driving a modified Volvo to Lake Como in Italy to raise money for forces’ charity Help for Heroes.
Bought in February for only £205, the car has been turned into a makeshift double decker bus for the themed “banger run”.
Gary Franks, 45, who is keeping the car in his Buckland drive, said: “We struggled to come up with an idea for the car’s design but now we have it we are really quite keen to get going.
“I don’t think we will push it too hard, so we will do it in four days.”
The trio, who have already raised more than £600, will set off on August 30.
