Gol murder trial most expensive
10:30am Friday 22nd February 2013 in Countywide
THE case of double murderer Ensar Gol was the most expensive Oxfordshire case for the Crown Prosecution Service last year.
He was found guilty of the murder of his wife and mother-in-law on September 4, 2011, in Thame.
His trial in May last year cost the CPS £16,706, according to a reply by the CPS to a Freedom of Information request by the Oxford Mail.
He was jailed for life with a minumum of 36 years.

How much more expensive was it than any other murder trial in Oxfordshire - £1 more or 3 times as expensive? That might be of interest.
Anyway, £16,706 on the criminal justice system to ensure a murderer is locked away for a minimum of 36 years doesn't seem to horrendous to me (unless of course it normally only costs £600 for such a trial, but then the papers don't seem to think that that would be interesting or relevant).
