A family was evacuated from their home in Windmill Road, Headington, after a fire broke out at about 3pm today.
It is believed the fire, in a bedroom, was caused by an unattended candle.
One adult and a child suffered slight smoke inhalation and were taken to the John Radcliffe for precautionary checks.
