A WARD sister who has worked for an Oxford hospital for 21 years has been named Nurse of the Year by her colleagues.
Sue Hunt, from Bampton, was awarded the trophy after being chosen by workmates at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (NOC), in Headington, for her dedication to patients.
She was handed the award by NOC chief executive Jan Fowler today.
Mrs Hunt said: “I was very shocked to find out I had won, but extremely happy.”
Mrs Hunt has worked to ensure her team spends more time with patients and fewer hours on paperwork. She added: “I work with a fantastic team.”
She was serenaded by the newly formed NOC staff choir, which made its debut at the ceremony after forming two months ago.
The NOC’s Celebrating Success awards are in their ninth year.
