YOUNGSTERS from a special school in Barton got the chance to dress up and become police officers for a day.
Barton's police neighbourhood police team visited children at the Endeavour Academy, in Waynflete Road, for a morning of fun-filled activities.
The children, who have a range of learning difficulties, were able to dress up, sit in police cars, turn on the sirens and flashing lights.
Head of key stages Naomi Thomson thanked Barton PCSO Libbie Stiff for organising the event.
She added: "It went really well and it was very positive.
"The children got outside and were able to get into the police car and dress up, they really enjoyed it."
The 25-child school caters for youngsters between eight and 19 who have autism and severe learning difficulties.
Ms Thomson added it was important for the children to see the police in a "positive situation" as well as getting to know local police officers.
PSCO Stiff said: "The day itself was great, really enjoyed by the pupils and staff."
