A WOMAN has died in a house fire in Thame.

Firefighters were called to the Greenway home at 3.25pm yesterday, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue said.

Spokesman Jason Crapper said there was a fire in the living room which was heavily logged with smoke. The woman’s age has yet to be released.

He said: “Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus quickly extinguished the fire and located the occupant but were unfortunately unable to save them.

“The cause of the fire is not yet known and a joint investigation by Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service and Thames Valley Police is ongoing.”
