THE last train to London Paddington leaves Oxford station at 10.30pm tonight before major improvements works kick in for the Easter weekend.

From tonight through to the end of Monday, April 6 the railway will be closed between Hayes & Harlington and Didcot Parkway via Reading.

Replacement buses will then be in place between Didcot Parkway and Reading and on to Paddington.

Tonight’s last train from London to Oxford leaves Paddington at 11.46pm while passengers can catch the 11pm from to make it to Didcot Parkway.

Normality will be resumed on Tuesday, April 7 when the 4.00am to London Paddington leaves the platform at Oxford.

CrossCountry trains are replaced by a hourly bus service between Didcot Parkway and Winchester running non stop. Passengers for Reading or Basingstoke should change at Didcot Parkway and use First Great Western road services for these stations.

There will be an amended timetable to and from Reading and London Paddington from April 7 to April 11.
