Canvassers are to visit district homes that have not returned their electoral roll registration forms.
They will visit from 9am to 8pm from Friday, November 22 and will carry identification.
The council said the move was vital as people will have to register personally rather than as part of a household from next summer. Forms have already been sent to homes and details can be confirmed or changed by phone, text or internet.
