HOMES and businesses were affected by a power cut in Bicester.
Energy provider SSE reported the problem on its Twitter page and residents are also complained of the lack of electricity on social media.
Issues were logged on SSE's website shortly before 10am but power should have been restored by midday.
There were reports that the Tesco Superstore in Bicester has closed due to the power cut but staff said this was not the case.
The store's customer experience manager Celia Costa said the power cut hit at about 9am, meaning some of the tills had to shut, but everything was back up and running by 11.30am.
We're sorry for the #PowerCut affecting #Bicester and the surrounding areas. We expect your power to be back on by noon.
