PATIENT feedback about waiting times for appointments at a Bicester surgery has been named as one of the worst in the area.

North Bicester Surgery, in Barberry Place, has been told by health watchdog the Care Quality Commission (CQC) that improvements must be made to getting back to patients about issues they had raised.

Inspectors visited the surgery on August 26 and reported that staff had not responded to patient feedback about the length of time they had to wait at the surgery before seeing a doctor.

The report said: “Patient feedback regarding access to appointments was worse than other practices in the local area.

“There was no evidence to show the practice was or had a plan to address these issues.”

Inspectors also commented that there was no evidence of an ongoing strategy for the practice, that staff were “inconsistent” in dealing with complaints, and cleaning standards should be monitored more effectively.

But they did report that staff understood their responsibilities to raise concerns and to report incidents.

They also noted that patients were treated with compassion, dignity and respect and were involved in discussions about their care and treatment.

No one at the surgery was available for a response on the report.
