Given a 16-week jail term, suspended for two years, due to “high reading, previous conviction for similar offence”. Ordered to do 240 hours’ unpaid work with two years’ supervision and told to pay £85 costs.

Joanne McClements, 35, of Evenlode, Banbury, admitted shoplifting four packs of washing liquid valued at £21 from Co-op in Banbury on February 23 and failing to surrender to court bail on March 9. Given a three-week curfew and told to pay £21 compensation.

Steven McDougall, 28, of Edmunds Road, Banbury, admitted criminal damage and assault in Banbury on September 11. Given a two-month jail term, suspended for two years. Ordered to do 200 hours’ unpaid work with a year’s supervision.

Mark Trusler, 23, of School View, Banbury, admitted assault by beating in Banbury on October 1. Given a four-month jail term, suspended for 18 months, with 18 months’ supervision.
