THE four women shortlisted to stand for the Tories in Banbury have now been revealed, despite previous claims it could infringe their "privacy."

North Oxfordshire Conservative Association (NOCA) had previously said it would not release the names as a matter of "privacy."

But now the four shortlisted prospective parliamentary candidates have been confirmed by NOCA on Twitter.

The four women were confirmed as Kemi Badenoch, Rachel Joyce, Victoria Prentis and Helen Whately.

NOCA agent Chris Rowland said that another organisation had the list and therefore the NOCA decided to release the names itself.

The succesful candidate will be revealed on Saturday.

She will replace Sir Tony Baldry, who is stepping down at next year's General Election, as the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Banbury.

NOCA said earlier this week that the candidates were "interviewed and assessed objectively" and "gender was not a factor."

In 2010 Sir Tony held Conservative stronghold of Banbury with a majority of 18,000.
