Banbury MP Sir Tony Baldry has made a request to make sure the new Prince George is in with a sporting chance in life.
Sir Tony, right, asked if MPs could send a gift to the new prince to honour his christening.
During a debate in the Commons on Thursday, Sir Tony made his request to Leader of the House Andrew Lansley.
He said: “Will my Right Hon friend the Leader of the House give some thought to the possibility of affording an opportunity to members of the House to subscribe to a decent christening present for the young Prince George of Cambridge?
“Perhaps it could be something he could use in later childhood, such as a really good cricket bat.”
