MODEL railway enthusiasts coupled up train carriages ready for a run yesterday.
Banbury and District Model Railway Club held its first open Sunday of 2013, launching a recruitment drive for more members.
The event was held at Cherwell Business Village on Southam Road.
Showing an O Gauge London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) tank engine was Martyn Lester, 69, from Banbury, pictured. The retired civil servant said: “We were looking to recruit more members and we were pleased with the positive response.
“We even had somebody turn up who had only lived in Banbury for three days so we were happy with that. The train I was showing was made by my father when he was about 80 and he too was a keen model railway enthusiast.”
