THAMES Water has apologised after a pumping station failed and spilled sewage onto a road in Witney.
The company confirmed the spillage was at its Stanton Harcourt Road site in Cogges.
It said a nearby road and a ditch were affected.
A spokeswoman for the firm added: "We’re sorry for the mess caused by a pump failure at our sewage pumping station.
"The pump is now working as it should and we’ve arranged for a clean-up of the road and nearby ditch, which will be completed today”.
