SCALES OF JUSTICE: Oxford Magistrates' Court round-up

Angela Painting, 32, of Drayton Road, Didcot, admitted shoplifting perfume from Wilkinson in Didcot on November 11 and committing a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Fined £50, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £35 costs.

Muse Guled, 20, of Nye Bevan Close, Oxford, admitted acquiring, using or possessing criminal property, namely a mobile phone, between August 5 and 9. Fined £60, a £15 victims’ surcharge, £35 costs and £25 compensation.

Adam White, 24, of Dashwood Road, Oxford, admitted failing to comply with a community order by failing to work as instructed on May 7, 14, 21 and 28. Original offence of assault by beating resentenced. Given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Andrew Green, 39, of The Frith, Didcot, convicted of shoplifting a £129 Remington electric shaver from Boots in Oxford on July 28 and burglary of Oxford Backpackers’ Hostel of £95 on May 15. Also admitted stealing two Superdry jackets valued at £95 in Didcot on August 9. Jailed for 80 days.

James Hillier, 26, of Fleetwood Road North, Thornton-Cleveles, Lancs, convicted of driving without due care and attention, failing to stop after a road accident, failing to report a road accident and driving without a licence in Banbury Court, The Vineyard, Abingdon, on April 21. Fined £100, a £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for six months.
