A new kitchen store was opened on Churchill Road this week by The Mayor of Bicester, Councillor Nick Mawer.

The new Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery Branch was officially unveiled on Monday 28 March, when The Mayor of Bicester cut the ceremonial ribbon and announced the store open to customers. Oxford City player Alfie Potter was also present for the opening.

Visitors to the store will enjoy a selection of high-quality, modern kitchen designs to fit a range of tastes. As well as leading brands in appliances, joinery and worktops.

Further, an on-site Travis Perkins means that customers will also have access to over 25,000 building materials and products. Which includes a ‘tools and plant’ hire service, giving customers the power to carry out their own home projects all while shopping under one roof.

The store will be offering a free professional kitchen design service, helping residents to visualise and create a kitchen to suit their home and budget. Additionally, the store’s website allows visitors to take a 360-degree tour of the virtual showroom, and get a close up view of the wide range of kitchen styles and colours.

The Mayor of Bicester, Councillor Nick Mawer, said: “It was a pleasure to officially open the new Benchmarx Bicester store. Everyone knows it has been a turbulent time for many businesses, particularly physical stores that have been unable to open during lockdowns or have had to adapt to restrictions. I’m therefore delighted to welcome Benchmarx to Bicester, along with the new jobs it has created in the region.”

Matt Gilboy, branch manager at Benchmarx Bicester, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Benchmarx to Bicester, and are grateful to Councillor Nick Mawer for officially opening the new location. We’d also like to thank Oxford City player, Alfie Potter for attending the opening.

“With demand for home renovations and construction at an all-time high, the opening of the new branch couldn’t come at a better time. The store has been designed to provide a one-stop shop for all kitchen and joinery needs, so we’re excited to welcome our first customers and make the kitchen dreams of the people of Bicester come true!”

Customers also have the option to shop online or on the App, which promises a rapid one hour Click and Collect service in the store. The industry-first App was designed in conjunction with customers with the aim of helping them save time and work more efficiently. They are even able to check and order stock in real time from their local branch.
