The Story Museum presents The Book of Hopes, a new exhibition designed to offer hope through creativity, imagination and play.

The exhibition brings to life the successful volume The Book of Hopes: Words and Pictures to Comfort, Inspire and Entertain Children in Lockdown, an anthology of 133 stories, poems and pictures from leading children’s authors and illustrators.

The exhibition is centred around the ‘Hope Tree’, inspired by an illustration by Axel Scheffler (The Gruffalo) and brought to life by artist and sculptor Andrea Greenwood in colourful fabric and paper.

Under the tree, visitors can sit and listen to audio excerpts of stories and poems in the exhibition, read by actors including Stephen Fry, Ben Bailey Smith and Helena Bonham Carter along with Katherine Rundell the book's editor.

Every single entry in The Book of Hopes is referenced in the exhibition, whether through newly-commissioned objects, artworks, quotes or audio.

Oxford Mail:

From July 17 onwards the Story Museum will be fully open every day. Tickets are now on sale and available to pre-book online.
