My name is Liam Powell and I am 16 years old. In June of this year, I will be participating in the Football League Arch to Ark Challenge along with my brother, Gareth Powell, who turned 20 at the start of February. The Arch to Ark Challenge is a 3-day, 244 mile bike ride from the iconic Wembley Stadium in London to the awe-inspiring Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and is all in charity for Help the Hospices. My brother and I will be representing Oxford United FC in the challenge, and in order to be accepted for the challenge, we each need to raise £1300 by May.

In order to achieve this target we have both set up donation web-pages, where people can read about our story and donate however much or little they want. The two pages are: www.justgiving.com/Liam-Powelltarget1300 AND www.justgiving.com/Gareth-Powell1 We will hugely appreciate any donations that can be made, and we urge everyone to try to help us reach our individual targets, as the Help the Hospices charity is a magnificent organisation that helps so many people up and down the country who are less fortunate than others.

Please, even if you feel your donation is not very high or you are unable to donate very much, just try to donate whatever you can. We realise that money is not something people can take for granted, and so many of us might want to help but cannot afford to provide large donations. However, the amount you donate does not matter: that fact that you are, not only allowing myself and my brother to participate in the challenge in order to raise awareness and support for the charity, but also providing your own money and support for the charity is the thing that matters the most.
