INFANTRYMEN of The Rifles regiment are marching through Oxford this morning for the first time.
The unit will exercise the honour of Freedom of the City, which means they can march through the city centre.
The march will be followed by an inspection at St Giles, speeches and presentations.
It is thought about 250 current and former members of the regiment will be present at today.
It comes almost 10 years after The Royal Green Jackets marched through Oxford.
The Rifles were formed February 1, 2007, after the Royal Green Jackets Infantry Regiment - the successor to the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry - merged with The Light Infantry, the Devonshire and Dorset Light Infantry and the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment.
