Police today released CCTV footage after a fight in Maxwell’s Bar in Oxford.
At about 1.05am on January 31, the victim, a 36-year-old man, became involved in an argument with another man.
During the attack the victim fell down the stairs at the Queen Street venue.
He suffered a serious injury to his shoulder and needed treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
Thames Valley Police want to speak to the man shown in the CCTV footage as he may have information which could help with the investigation.

PC Paul Jones said: "The victim of this assault was seriously injured as the attack caused him to fall down the stairs.
"Fortunately he has since been discharged from hospital, but the violent assault could have caused even more serious and long-lasting injuries.
"Violence will not be tolerated in our community and police are doing everything possible to locate the offender in this incident.
"In particular I would like to speak to the man shown in the CCTV footage as he may have information which could help with police enquiries."
