RESIDENTS have just three working days left to get involved over the bid to win permission for a £100m redevelopment of Botley’s West Way.

People and land owners have until the date to submit written representations to The Planning Inspectorate.

It is to hear an appeal by Doric Properties and construction firm Mace against Vale of White Horse District Council’s refusal of permission for the plans.

The firms want to demolish Elms Parade and surrounding buildings for a supermarket, hotel, six-screen cinema, library, 525 student rooms and 50 flats.

A spokesman from the planning inspectorate said: “Anyone who wishes to make a representation about this appeal should do so directly to The Planning Inspectorate by 2 January 2015.

“As with all appeals that are made to us, we will handle this appeal in a fair, open and transparent way.”

Oxford West and Abingdon Conservative MP Nicola Blackwood spoke against the proposals at the planning committee meeting and promised to continue the fight.

She said: “I will of course join locals in fighting this appeal but it is disappointing that, after both the Vale planning committee and the local community have been so clear in roundly rejecting Doric’s plans for West Way, the developers are still not listening to local people.”

All letters of support and objection during the application process will be forwarded on to the Planning Inspectorate.

Those who wish to send extra comments or re-affirm their comments should send their representations to The Planning Inspectorate, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Bristol, BS1 6PN or submit them online at planningportal.
