Hundreds of motorbike riders will embark on a “pilgrimage” of more than 70 miles to raise money for an Armed Forces charity next month.

On October 4, the annual Ride to the Wall event will see riders travel from the Cherwell Valley Services, near Ardley, to the National Memorial Arboretum, in Staffordshire.

They will be joining thousands of others from around the country who will travel to the Arboretum, which is the UK’s centre of remembrance for those who have given their lives in the service of the country.

The ride will raise money for the centre, part of The Royal British Legion and home to the Armed Forces Memorial.

About 200 motorcyclists are expected to set off from the Cherwell services at 9.51am. They will arrive at the Arboretum at about 12.15pm.
