JURORS have this morning retraced the route Ben Blakeley said he took with Jayden Parkinson on December 3, the night she died.

Meeting at Mowbray Road in Didcot at 11am, members of the jury - accompanied by judge Patrick Eccles and prosecution and defence - walked for an hour through fields to the wooden footbridge where Blakeley told the court he put his hands around 17-year-old Jayden's neck.

Blakeley, 22, of Reading, claims Jayden then fell off the bridge into a ditch.

Prosecutor Richard Latham told jurors: "We are not in a position to know how much water was in there.

"The police were in no way interested in the stream at that time."

Jayden’s body was discovered buried in the grave of Blakeley’s uncle Alan Kennedy in a cemetery next to All Saint’s Church in Didcot on December 18.

Blakeley denies muder but admits manslaughter.

He and a 17-year-old - who is too young to be named - both admit perverting the course of justice. The 17-year-old denies denying a lawful burial.
