EVERYONE has a hobby that they like to indulge in.
While some of us like gardening or dancing, there are others who like playing with roundabouts.
Mr Ian Hudspeth falls into the swings and roundabouts category.
I have lost count of the number of roundabouts that he has tampered with causing untold mayhem to road users.
There is Pear Tree roundabout, the Green Road roundabout, Cutteslowe, Frideswide, The Plain roundabout and Uncle Tom Cobley and all.
I dread to think how much money had been spent on indulging this fascinating roundabout hobby.
This perfect storm of roundabouts has not been helped by Mr Hudspeth receiving an award for the Green Road roundabout even though cars have twice collided since the exciting makeover.
Meanwhile we have questions being asked of Mr Hudspeth as to how the county’s funds are being spent.
In Oxfordshire, spending on mesmerising roundabouts and riveting road schemes has been prioritised over children`s services.
This is in stark contrast to Buckinghamshire County Council.
I was pleasantly surprised to see the leader of Buckinghamshire Council say on TV that he was now curtailing all road schemes in order to maintain other essential services such as libraries and children`s centres.
Mr Hudspeth is a jolly likeable chap but his love of roundabouts is costing Oxfordshire dearly.
