Rough sleeping in Oxford is a fact.
Much has been made of Oxford City Council spending on supporting the homeless, but the need for ‘local connections’ bars anyone from outside the area, so they have no choice but to sleep rough.
Many are vulnerable and need support to get them off the streets – not more barriers.
The Covered Market is deemed to be one of the safer spots in the city, offering protection from both weather and unwanted attention.
Why can’t the authorities work to manage the situation?
