PLEASE warn your readers not to grow old in Botley.
We are a nation of gardeners, so for many the move to sheltered housing can be less distressing if there is a garden for residents.
Field House in Botley has perfectly adequate facilities, including a large central garden which many of the 60 flats overlook.
Botley's Field House
The Doric nightmare proposes not only to reduce the number of flats by 32 but to tuck the limited number of replacement flats above public spaces with no provision for a garden.
It seems Doric cares for the needs of students but is prepared hugely to disrupt the lives of senior citizens for the purpose of cutting them off from nature.
