THERE are not many naturally-occurring events that can inspire the same sense of wonder as a solar eclipse.
For about half an hour businesses and schools came to a standstill as people donned their specially-filtered safety glasses to watch the breathtaking sight.
And they were not disappointed – it has been described as the best solar eclipse in years.
While other areas of the south were plagued by cloudy skies, here in Oxfordshire many of us got a wonderful view.
It certainly produced some stunning pictures as you can see from today’s pages.
