AS we mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War we remember those who gave their lives.
It’s a fitting tribute then to Corporal Cyril Louch, whose family recognised him in the old photograph published in Saturday’s Oxford Mail.
After his bravery on the frontline, Corporal Louch returned to Oxford, married, had a family and worked in the local mechanics and steel industries.
It’s poignant to tell his story on Armistice Day as one of the many Oxfordshire men who went off to war.
We must remember those servicemen and ensure future generations hear their stories.
