THE WORKS of writer and poet Rudyard Kipling will be honoured at an event in Woodstock on Wednesday night.

An Evening with Rudyard Kipling at the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum tells the story of Kipling's life through readings from his poetry and prose.

It charts the life of the Jungle Book author, from chronicling Britain's Indian Raj to speaking out during the First World War.

The show will be presented by former BBC, ITV and Financial Times journalist Philip Geddes and starts at 7pm, with tickets costing £10.
