A BANK has got planning permission to open in Oxford – after the city council allowed it to change a shop.
Metro Bank filed an application to open up in 4-5 Queen Street and city councillors backed the plan at a meeting last Tuesday.
The unit is close to the junctions of High Street, Cornmarket and St Aldates and is close to Carfax Tower, Tower House, Midland Bank. All of those are listed buildings.
The site is also including within the Central Conservation Area.
The city council's West Area planning committee approved the application at a meeting at Oxford Town Hall.
