CHANGES to protection against future builds in Charlton-on-Otmoor, near Bicester, are being put to villagers.
Residents are being called on to have their say on changes to the village's conservation area.
Conservation areas are put in place to help protect and improve areas of the district which have special historic character.
The Charlton-on-Otmoor area has not been appraised for over 20 years, so the changes hope to look at updating the area.
Cherwell District Council lead member for planning Colin Clarke said: “Cherwell has lots of architectural highlights and areas whose history and character we are keen to preserve.
"This is what conservation areas are intended to do, and there are 60 of them designated in the district.
"To keep the conservation areas up to date, it’s vital that our officers work closely with residents.
"As we consult on the Charlton-on-Otmoor conservation area, I hope lots of villagers will come forward and let us know what they think about the proposed changes."
The public consultation and exhibition is being put forward at a public meeting on Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm at Charlton-on-Otmoor Primary School.
