BLACKBIRD Leys will have a new parish council chairman for the first time in nearly a decade.

Longstanding chairman Gordon Roper stepped down at the last election and his replacement will be elected at a meeting on Tuesday night.

A new vice chairman will also be elected after fellow councillor Ann Booker stepped down.

And the council will get a new clerk to replace Nicky Clargo.

Tuesday's meeting will comprise the Annual Parish Meeting with representatives from the area's community groups set to attend to hear an update on business for the year.

Councillors will also discuss issues such as parking in cycle lanes and hear updates from police and city councillors.

Members of the public are welcome to attend from 7pm in the Jack Argent Room of the Blackbird Leys Community Centre.
