STUDENTS from Artways Art Club at the River and Rowing Museum will be exhibiting the work of this weekend.

The pieces produced are inspired by the current Barbara Hepworth exhibition, as well as their own ideas and interests.

A wide range of media and materials including metal, plaster and silk have been used to make the colourful creations.

Camilla Shelley, Artways tutor at the Henley-on-Thames museum, said: “We are really excited about the opportunity that this exhibition provides, to share the work of our talented Artways students with the local community.

"The exhibition is organised entirely by our senior students, as they work towards their silver and gold Arts Awards in association with Trinity College London."

She added: "I hope that as many visitors as possible will come and support this free event which will be held in the education centre, as well as taking the opportunity to explore their local museum.”

This is the River & Rowing Museum’s contribution to Oxfordshire Artweeks, a local initiative held every year over three weeks in May across the county.

Artweeks gives attendees the opportunity to experience the work of local artists working in many different types of media, to attend talks and even take part in the art being created through workshops.

The exhibition will be held in the museum’s Learning Centre, from 10.30am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free of charge. To find out more about Artways Art Club and how to participate, contact the museum’s Learning Team onedbookings@rrm.co.uk or visit rrm.co.uk
