AN AWARD-WINNING cameraman will finally share his insights from almost 40 years filming wildlife.

Doug Allan was originally due to speak at Abingdon School's Amey Theatre at the beginning of last month until snow from the 'beast from the east' caused the talk to be cancelled.

No stranger to sub-zero conditions, Mr Allan spent seven years in Antarctica as a research diver, scientist and photographer for the British Antarctic Survey, before changing direction to full time freelance filming in 1983.

The rescheduled talk will start at 7pm on April 27.

Those due to attend the previous show can have their booking transferred or refunded.

Remaining tickets are one sale via the school website.

Mr Allan is one of the world’s best known and respected cameramen and in his 35-year filming career has worked for the BBC, Discovery, National Geographic, filming for series like The Blue Planet, Planet Earth and Brian Cox’s Forces of Nature.

His photographic awards include eight Emmy’s and five BAFTA’s.

He will be giving his own personal insights about marine biology, diving, and filming at the poles, illustrated with his own photographs and clips from his best-known series.
