A MAN accused of assaulting a prison officer at HMP Bullingdon has elected to face a trial by jury.
Daniel Beckford, of Bodley Manor Way, Tulse Hill, London, is accused of one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The 36-year old appeared at Oxford Crown Court on Friday to deny the charge.
It relates to an incident at the prison near Bicester on July 17 last year in which a prison officer was allegedly attacked by Beckford.
He was released on bail to face a trial at the same court on July 18. The trial is expected to last two days.
